DURUSU HUSEYIN ÖKTEN ANATOLIAN HIGH SCHOOL

The school is located at the mouth of Terkos lake, in Arnavutköy district of Istanbul. It is known as Durusu Mahallesi with its new name and is 4 kilometers from the Black Sea coast.

It started education in Durusu Primary School in 1970-1971 as "Durusu Secondary School". Later, it was moved to A Block, which is our current building, which was first built by İSKİ in 1972-1973, and in 1980-1981 it was included in the scope of general high school and continued education under the name "Durusu High School".

After Hüseyin ÖKTEN, one of the benevolent businessmen of the region, built the B Block additional building and donated it to the institution, he took part in education life as "Durusu Hüseyin Ökten High School" as a result of the approval of the ministry and the province, dated 14.07.1995 and numbered 420/221423.

In both buildings, secondary and high school education continued for a while, and as a result of the compulsory eight years of primary education, the middle part of our school was closed in the 1998-1999 academic year with its last graduates. Our school, which has continued to exist within the scope of general high school since the 1999-2000 academic year, was later transformed into an Anatolian High School as of 05.06.2013 with the written order of the Ministry of National Education dated 2014 and numbered 1123838.

Thus, the school gained its final institutional identity as Durusu Hüseyin Ökten Anatolian High School as of 05.06.2013.

A total of 25 teachers give training at the school and 497 students are educated. The school has 1 multi-purpose hall, 13 classrooms and 2015 books in its library.

The school can be reached by IETT buses, which depart from the Masjid Selam station approximately every hour.

The school is 17 km from the district center.
